Varsity Cheerleading
Varsity Cheerleading at LCA cheers for football, basketball, and competition. They are a multi-talented group of young ladies. While they throw tumbling skills, build stunts, and encourage spirit on the sidelines, their focus is to represent Christ’s spirit in all they do. The young ladies participate in GISA, ICSGA, and FCC competitions. Last year they won first place in the JV division FCC Open National Competition and 2nd place in the ICSGA State Competition at the Varsity level. Two young ladies were chosen All-Americans through ICSGA. They are responsible for pep rallies, encouraging athletes, and cheer clinics with LCA’s younger students. These ladies work hard, play hard, and have fun!
The 2009 – 2010 Lady Lion Varsity Cheer Team completed
another successful year! Beginning at FCC camp last
summer, the Lady Lions won a bid to FCC Nationals and took
home FCC’s top award, The Spirit Award, for Christ-like
character and actions in support of each other, the other
teams, and the staff!
The ladies participation at the fall 2009 FCC Georgia
Classic Regional competition garnered a 2nd place trophy.
Finally, the ladies completed their season by becoming
the state runner-up at the recent ICSGA State Tournament
held in Columbus, Georgia. In addition, three athletes
were chosen for the ICSGA All-American Team.
Congratulations to Kensley Atwell - 8th Grade, Amanda Barth
- freshman, and Lauren Pelletier - sophomore.
Additional congratulations go to Lauren Pelletier who was
named the ICSGA Jump winner!
Middle School Cheerleading
The Middle School cheerleaders cheer for football and basketball. Middle school cheerleading promotes school spirit and school unity while displaying Christ-like character and developing servant leadership qualities. These girls work very hard on building skills such as tumbling, stunting, and encouraging our athletes from the sidelines. Middle school cheerleaders strive for excellence in order to honor God and inspire people. These cheerleaders also participate in the FCC cheer camp, pep rallies, encouraging athletes, and cheer clinics with LCA younger students.
