Carol Cheney: Director of Hybrid Program

Loganville Christian Academy is excited to launch its new Hybrid program for this fall 2020. Carol Cheney will be the director of LCA’s Hybrid program. The Hybrid program is designed to blend all of the best of a traditional school and homeschool environment. Carol has faithfully worked with a few of our Barton students for the past year here at LCA. She comes to us with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University where she graduated summa cum laude.

We welcome Carol’s experience as an educator in many different settings. Carol taught K4 for ten years, during which time she had a special interest in language arts and pursued teacher development in that area. Carol homeschooled for nine years, and during that period she focused on expanding her writing instruction skills and completing some extra courses in teaching writing for the elementary and middle school grades. She became proficient in the material from the Institute for Excellence in Writing. Carol has been teaching at Scholars Guild Academy for nine years. She taught a variety of courses there: Literature, Writing, Intro to Public Speaking, and Greek/Latin Roots.

On a personal note, Carol is married and blessed with three children—and all of their children will have graduated from Loganville Christian Academy as of this May. It should come as no surprise that Carol loves to read! She also enjoys indoor cycling, travel, history, music, and the beach whenever possible. As a twenty-one year member of Anchor Church in Grayson, Carol currently serves the preschoolers but has been a part of the praise team for many years and has taught 5th grade Life School. Please join us in congratulating Carol in her new position at LCA!
