Alexander Graham Bell Association

In December 2016, Will Anderson, a 7th grader at LCA, participated in two forums for the Georgia chapter meeting of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and the discussion forum for Advanced Bionics, Bionic Ear Association.

These two forum were designed to allow Will and other cochlear implant (CI) users to share their stories and offer encouragement to adults and parents of young children who are considering getting a CI. Will gave lots of encouragement, especially to families whose children have recently been diagnosed with hearing loss. Seeing Will’s success gave them hope that their children could also be successful at anything they desire. Will proudly gave credit to his Lord for helping him, and he even gave a shout out to LCA as a wonderful place to go to school!

After telling his story, Will has been asked and has agreed to write a chapter about his journey in a book that is being written about life with cochlear implants.

We are so proud of the way Will represented LCA and our Lord. Great job, Will!
