J-Term supports this mission by providing transformational learning experiences outside the traditional classroom — through travel, service, hands-on exploration and internships.

EXPEDITIONS

J-Term provides exciting travel experiences that encourage students to learn, serve, and grow beyond the classroom. These trips are designed to be educational, exploratory, or mission-focused and may include local, domestic, or international destinations.

EXPLORATIONS

J-Term Explorations provide students with opportunities to discover new passions, career interests, and life skills while reinforcing academic excellence and spiritual growth. These on campus courses are designed to be academic, professional, or exploratory in nature, helping students develop the knowledge and character needed to impact the world for Christ.

J-Term Engagements provides juniors and seniors with the option to participate in internships as a way to gain real-world experience and explore potential career paths.

  • Yes, all Upper School students are required to participate in J-Term through a trip, on campus courses, or an internship.

  • Each middle school student is required to participate in J-Term. They will receive a pass/fail grade on their report card each spring semester.

  • Each high school student is required to participate in J-Term. They will receive .25 credits each year for a total of 1 full credit at the end of their 4 years of high school. It is a graduation requirement.

  • Students will be graded as pass/fail. If you fail to show up to your exploration, engagement, or expedition, this will be considered a failing grade.

  • Yes, students will be required to complete 30 hours of community service by spring break in order to fulfill their J-Term commitment.
