WELCOME STEM & TECHNOLOGY FINE ARTS ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES

WELCOME TO LOWER SCHOOL

OVERVIEW

We, at LCA, recognize that in order to educate children of the 21st century for the modern job market, staying current is not sufficient, as today’s current is tomorrow’s obsolete. We teach our students to be innovators by crossing disciplinary boundaries and exploring problems and their solutions from various perspectives. Therefore, it is our responsibility to provide our students with curriculum that evokes creativity, innovation, problem solving, and experience-based inquiry.

We recognize students learn in a variety of ways and have different strengths and weaknesses. For these reasons, teachers use a variety of teaching methods, strategies, and assessments to spur the student to his or her full potential. We hold to the most effective, research-based methods of instruction while also embracing the technology of today.

+ PREK3-PREK4

In a caring and nurturing environment, teachers launch a child’s educational experience at LCA. This experience stimulates thinking skills while addressing individual needs. This curriculum includes reading and writing, math, science, social studies, computer skills, and Bible. Students also participate in music, art, and physical education. Throughout the day, students are given opportunities for a variety of activities, such as listening, speaking, writing, drawing, and imaginative play. Each class has an assistant teacher to support the educational program. Students in the preschool program are three to five years old.

+ KINDERGARTEN-5TH

Our kindergarten through fifth grade students explore the fundamentals of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, along with instruction in technology, physical education, art, music, and library. Starting in Kindergarten, our instructional day is comprised of a variety of teaching methods and biblical instruction, and Christian values are incorporated in daily teaching and through our chapel program. Our STEM lab allows students to be challenged to problem solve and utilize their creative thought processes in a collaborative environment. Educational field trips round out their academic experience.

HEAR FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Hi! I want to welcome you to Loganville Christian Academy’s Lower School. It is my privilege to partner with our PreK3-5th grade families. It is an incredible opportunity to educate our students academically, spiritually, and socially for God’s call on their lives.

Serving as principal is a responsibility that I do not take lightly. I want to make sure we are implementing best practices for our students to be challenged and successful. In Lower School, we have a highly-qualified and dedicated staff that desires to challenge students to explore learning in a safe and nurturing environment, always fostering a love of learning. We believe optimum student learning occurs by being actively involved with new knowledge and having the opportunity to explore and construct understanding. A knowledge base is important, but students also need to use and experience that knowledge in a multitude of ways.

All that we teach comes from a biblical worldview, seeing how truth is from God and how that knowledge impacts each of us. He is the creator and author of everything from math, to art, to science, and to reading. It is our goal to disciple the hearts of this next generation for God’s glory through the avenue of an excellent Christian education.

I am excited to watch God’s hand at work in the lives of our students.
