We had such a beautiful day today for LS field day! Students enjoyed rotating activity stations playing games such as hula hoop tic tac toe, water sponge tag, relay races, frisbee and jump time in bounce houses. This is a day that the kids look forward to each spring!

Today, Lower School celebrated Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’ birthday! The morning was kicked off with a celebration where HS Theatre students performed a number from their upcoming show,

Middle School launched Make a Difference (MAD) Week as a week-long service project to minister to our school, our community, and our peers. The project took place each day at break.

On Saturday, January 21, LCA's swim team traveled to Georgia Tech for the GISA State Swim Meet. For the first time in school history, every swimmer on the team qualified for state. Most notable finishers are as follows:  

Saturday night, Lower School fathers and daughters enjoyed an evening together as part of the Father Daughter Date Night. Themed, Georgia on My Mind, the gym was filled with stations highlighting venues from around the state of Georgia.  A few of the highlights include flying fish at the Georgia Aquarium, wading the swamps in the Okefenokee, playing Hungry Hungry Hippos at the Atlanta Zoo and baseball at the Braves stadium. Snacks and lemonade were available at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Number retirements are something rarely done except for those very few athletes that have such a lasting impact on their former institution or sports program.

Vision Night 2018 was an evening full of reflection over the past 20 years and a look forward to the next 20 years. The night kicked off with a hilarious video of our Lower School students answering questions about the history of LCA (see video below). New initiatives were presented by members of the Leadership Team.

Seniors kicked off 2018 at Infinite Center attending Passion 2018. Emily Armstrong summed up the conference perfectly; “there is nothing more beautiful than being surrounded by 12,000 people worshiping the Lord God Almighty with everything in them.”

Jesus' birth was a fact, but not merely a fact, it was a gift and it had a purpose. Remember what the angel said, "I bring you good news of great joy... for to you is born this day...a savior." (Luke 2:10-11) Part of the good news that causes great joy for all the people is that Jesus was born "to you."

LCA was recently awarded $529 through a Walton EMC School Empowerment Grant. The grant funds come from unclaimed capital credits.

The lower school students did an amazing job telling the Christmas Story through the play Camel Lot. Beth, played by Addison Travelstead, has been practicing hard for the church Christmas pageant.
