UPPER SCHOOL SUMMER REQUIREMENTS
This year, Upper School students are required to complete summer work in reading only. All students, rising grades 6th - 12th will be required to read one book this summer. In the fall, students should be prepared to take a brief reading check over the book and discuss it in your book club. The reading check will be the first grade in English class.
The goals of summer reading at LCA are to keep students reading in the summer, to keep their reading skills sharp, and to help them stay "tuned-up" so that the on-ramp for learning in August is as smooth as possible. We realize that students are more likely to enjoy summer reading if they have a choice in their book selection.
