At Loganville Christian Academy, our mission is to prepare students academically, spiritually, and socially for God’s call on their lives. J-Term supports this mission by providing transformational learning experiences outside the traditional classroom through travel, service, hands-on exploration, and internships. Whether across the globe or in our local community, J-Term experiences challenge students to grow in character, deepen their faith, and discover new passions as they live out God’s call for their lives in real-world contexts.

J-Term 2027 is a six-day intensive learning experience that begins January 5, 2027 and concludes January 11, 2027 for all in-person Expeditions, Explorations, and Engagements.

A digital learning day will be held on January 12, 2027.

The Spring Semester begins on January 13, 2027.

During J-Term, high school students at LCA will engage in one of the following pathways:
J-Term Expeditions
Educational, service-based, or cultural travel experiences

J-Term Explorations
On-campus, hands-on courses in unique academic and professional fields

J-Term Engagements
Internship opportunities designed for career exploration through real-world experience

J-Term provides exciting travel experiences that encourage students to learn, serve, and grow beyond the classroom. These trips are designed to be educational, exploratory, or mission-focused and may include local, domestic, or international destinations.

Each trip is led by an LCA faculty sponsor and provides opportunities for students to:

• Engage in immersive cultural learning

• Participate in meaningful service projects

• Strengthen their spiritual and social development

Traveling during J-Term allows students to experience God’s world in new ways, expanding their worldview while living out LCA’s mission of preparing students to impact the world for Christ.

J-Term Explorations provide students with opportunities to discover new passions, career interests, and life skills while reinforcing academic excellence and spiritual growth. These on-campus courses are designed to be academic, professional, or exploratory in nature, helping students develop the knowledge and character needed to impact the world for Christ.

Each year, LCA faculty and local professionals lead a five-day abbreviated semester experience, followed by one digital learning day. This structure challenges students to think critically, strengthen their faith, and embrace new challenges in meaningful ways.

Exploration Course Format
Courses may be offered as a full-day experience or divided into two half-day sessions.

• Morning Session: 8:20 AM – 11:20 AM

• Afternoon Session: 12:05 PM – 3:05 PM

J-Term Explorations provide an excellent opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zones, explore God-given talents, and grow in wisdom while embracing new learning experiences.

J-Term Engagements provide juniors and seniors with the option to participate in internships as a way to gain real-world experience and explore potential career paths.

This opportunity allows students to:

• Gain firsthand experience in a professional work environment

• Explore potential career paths through real-world application

• Develop valuable connections that may lead to future opportunities

Whether students are interested in business, healthcare, ministry, technology, or the arts, internships help students connect their academic journey with their faith and future careers. This hands-on experience is a powerful way for students to discern their calling and grow into leaders who serve Christ in all areas of life. Engagements may also be used as part of a senior project.
