Loganville Christian Academy is intentional about investing in our students and helping them develop into successful leaders. The Leadership Academy, which is made up of 4th and 5th-grade students, is one of those intentional ways.

Students across Lower School celebrated International Dot Day on September 15. This day is celebrated by focusing on a fun children's book written by Peter H. Reynolds entitled The Dot. The book is about a little girl who did not think she was creative until her teacher gave her confidence by saying to her, "Just make a mark and see where it takes you."

Jett Thistle - Class of 2017 Valedictorian

Not only has Jett earned the honor of valedictorian with his GPA, he also received the honor of STAR student by having the highest SAT score of this class. Beyond these academic accomplishments,

This week, our 4th and 5th grade Journey students traveled to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The students toured the facility and learned how diseases are spread as well as how they can be eradicated.  

Browning, an IT consultant at Loganville Christian Academy, built a working, scale replica of R2-D2, the lovable astromech droid who accompanies Luke Skywalker and others on adventures in George Lucas’ successful space opera saga.

They’re everywhere now — on the toy aisle, taking flight from backyards, soaring over cities for traffic control and deliveries, even serving in the military.

Just this past year, one of the hottest items under the Christmas tree was a commercial version of a remote-controlled drone, easily assembled out of the box to take flight mere minutes after the wrapping paper was off.

Robert K. Greenleaf made the term “servant leadership” popular in the 1960s with the release of his original essay, “The Servant as a Leader.”

In it, he suggested a different approach. This approach required serving others such as employees, customers, and community as the highest priority.

In December 2016, Will Anderson, a 7th grader at LCA, participated in two forums for the Georgia chapter meeting of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and the discussion forum for Advanced Bionics, Bionic Ear Association.  

On January 2, 37 members of our senior class, headed to Atlanta for Passion 2017. Our students, along with 55,000 other high school & college students and young adult leaders, gathered at the Georgia Dome for 3 days to focus on Jesus.  

The River of Words Project is a program designed to help K-12 students understand their sense of place by studying a watershed in their own environment then expressing what they discover through poetry and art.  The art and poetry can then be entered into a state-wide contest.

Decked out in goggles and heavy lab aprons, more than a dozen students painstakingly drip liquid into a vial and compare its changing colors against others to determine the amount of glucose in a lab sample, a test to determine if a subject had diabetes.

Thursday, December 8, our Lower School students took the stage for the annual Christmas program.  Under the direction of LS Music Teacher, Beth Dihigo, the students shared the story of The Good Shepherd.

Students gathered on Saturday night for the annual Homecoming Dance. Themed, Adventure Awaits, the gym was decked with camping gear, camp fires and a s'more bars. Follow the link below for pictures from the night!
