LOGANVILLE, Ga. — For the second year in a row, Loganville Christian Academy (LCA) has been named an AP Honor Roll School with Silver Distinction. The honor highlights the school’s dedication to expanding access to Advanced Placement coursework and equipping students for college success.
Head of School, Mrs. Rachel Ernst, believes this recognition showcases the intentional focus LCA places on enhancing AP offerings.
“LCA has made tremendous strides over the past several years to increase the number of AP courses offered to our students,” Ernst said. “Teachers have obtained additional certifications and work hard to ensure student success in these higher level courses. This recognition is an acknowledgement of our efforts and our students' success.”
There are three main criteria to qualify for an AP Honor Roll School distinction.
College Culture: 40 percent-plus of the graduating cohort has to take at least one AP exam while in high school.
College Credit: 25 percent-plus of the graduating cohort scored 3 or higher at least on one AP exam while in high school.
College Optimization: Two percent-plus of the graduating cohort took five-plus AP Exams during high school, with at least one of them being taken as a freshman or sophomore. This shows students are spreading their AP experience across grades rather than feeling disproportionate pressure in any single year.
LCA far exceeded Silver Distinction minimum requirements of 50, 30, and 5 percent, respectively.
The school recorded 62 percent in college culture, 52 percent in college credit and 23 percent for college optimization. LCA also met platinum standards in college credit and college optimization.
Additionally, LCA had eight AP Scholars, seven AP Scholars with Honor, and six AP Scholars with Distinction in the 2024-25 school year.
Further demonstrating academic achievement, LCA’s school SAT average (1103) for last school year was 74 points higher than the national average.
Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Ms. Karen Wages, acknowledged the significance of LCA accomplishing this two years running.
“We’re so proud to be recognized with this honor and grateful to celebrate the incredible work happening in our classrooms,” Wages said. “This is a testament to the hard work of our students and teachers.”
Being designated an AP Honor Roll School reflects LCA’s ongoing commitment to preparing students academically, spiritually, and socially for success in the Loganville community and beyond.
