LOGANVILLE, Ga. — Loganville Christian Academy’s Upper School will have a new leader at the helm in the 2025-26 school year. The Lions are excited to announce that Oj Soto will assume the role of Upper School Principal.
Soto is thrilled to become a part of the LCA Pride starting next school year, which will be his 30th year in education.
“I’m so excited to be joining the LCA family as your new Upper School Principal! It’s a huge blessing to be part of a school where students can grow not just in their learning, but also in their faith in Jesus,” Soto said. “One thing I really believe in is working together—students, teachers, parents, and the whole community—so we can all learn and grow together. I look forward to walking this journey with you.”
Three letters are at the core of Soto’s direction for the Upper School: A.C.T.
Attitude – Have the heart of a servant, just as Christ did when He walked the earth. (Philippians 2:5-7).
Commitment – Dedicate yourself daily to serving the Lord and living out His Word. (Colossians 3:23).
Team – Recognize that we are part of the body of Christ, working together in unity to advance His Kingdom (1 Corinthians 12:12-27).
Soto brings a wealth of experience into our Pride. He has served stints in the Jasper, Lamar, Walton counties school systems where he was a Spanish teacher and coached football, basketball, track, soccer, and baseball. Most recently, Soto was in the Gwinnett County Public Schools where he has served as a teacher, a coach, an assistant principal, and director of academic support.
Throughout every stop, Soto has been afforded the opportunity to collaborate with many different people and vast programs in the world of education. Additionally, Soto has been in positions that support students, parents, families, and the community.
Head of School, Rachel Ernst, believes that Soto is the perfect fit to pilot the Upper School ship.
“I am excited about the experience and knowledge Mr. Soto will bring to the Upper School program at LCA,” Ernst said. “His deep roots in the Walton County community will be appreciated by our students and families. As a growing Christian school in the community, strong, faith-led leadership is crucial and we are thrilled that the Lord has brought Mr. Soto to LCA.”
In 1996, Soto earned a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Wofford College followed by an M.Ed. in 2005, and, most recently, an Educational Specialist degree in Administration & Leadership.
Soto and his wife, Tamarra are long-time Walton County residents. They have twin sons and, earlier this year, they welcomed their first grandchild to the family. The Sotos are active members of Church at the Grove in Walnut Grove.
